NAME
----
grml-kerneltest - Tool to test the linux kernel

SYNOPSIS
--------
*grml-kerneltest* [OPTIONS] 'action' [kernel-version]

DESCRIPTION
-----------
*grml-kerneltest* is a program that
provides an easy way for grml developers to test a development kernel snapshot.
Thus grml-kerneltest has a few hardcoded values (like url for grml development kernels).

ACTIONS
-------
*g, get <kernel-version>*::
    This command downloads the hole development kernel snapshot from http://dufo.tugraz.at/~prokop/grml-kernel/<kernel-version>.
    This command creates a list of debian packages for the kernel into <kernel-version>.

*i, install <kernel-version>*::
    Install the hole kernel via dpkg -i (does not take dependencies into account).
    You could exclude modules through <kernel-version>.iignore (one pattern per line).

*l, load*::
    This command tries to load and unload all available kernel-modules (may crash the system).
    Add patterns to exclude modules to ./<kernel-version>.lignore (one per line).
    /lib/modules/$(uname -r)/modules.dep should be up to date (run depmod -a).

*h, help*::
  Show the help message.

OPTIONS
-------
*-h, help*::
Show summary of options.

*-l (default=30)*::
    Limit number of kernel-modules to load to 30.

*-c*::
    Activate terminal-colors (default is to activate it on interactive terminals).

EXAMPLES
--------

*grml-kerneltest -g 2.6.16-grml*::
    Downloads the hole 2.6.16-grml development kernel snapshot.

*grml-kerneltest -i 2.6.16-grml*::
    Tries to install kernel 2.6.16-grml (excluding matching patterns from 2.6.16-grml.iignore).

*grml-kerneltest -l 20*::
    Loads and unloads the first 20 modules from /lib/modules/$(uname -r)/modules.dep.
