Description: free NTFS data recovery tools
SalvageNTFS is a set of applications and an associated library
aimed at data recovery from NTFS volumes, made freely available
under the terms of the GNU General Purpose License. It can
"undelete" files, bypass file system permissions, and retrieve
information from badly corrupted or inconsistent volumes.
 .
 How does it work?
 .
SalvageNTFS accesses NTFS volumes directly, without using the
Windows (or Linux) NTFS driver. Because it is not designed to be
a general-purpose file system driver, but rather a recovery
tool, it is able to identify and work around problems to a much
greater degree than possible with other tools.
